Domestic EPC Dorset

Residential EPC Certificates for Homeowners, Buyers & Tenants

What is an Energy Performance Certificate?

An Energy Performance Certificate, commonly refered to as an EPC, is a document which is required when a property is to going to be sold or rented out.

The property will be inspected and given an energy efficiency grade between A and G, with A being the best (the most energy efficient) and G being the worst. The information on the EPC allows potential buyers and tenants to compare the energy efficiency of different properties. It can also help current owners and occupiers to make their property more energy efficient, by making improvements that we suggest.

If you are selling or renting out a property then you should arrange for an EPC to carried out for your potential buyers or tenants, before you market the property. The Energy Performance Certificate that we provide is suitable for both the rental or sale of the property.

Booking with EPC Dorset

How long does it take? When you book your EPC with us, we will arrange to visit your property and carry out the EPC Survey at a time that is convenient to you, normally within 48 hours. For an average domestic property this will take around 40 minutes.

When do you get the certificate? We will produce the certificate within 24-48 hours of the survey and email you a website link where you can view your EPC on the official government register. Your EPC Certificate is valid for a period of 10 years from the date of issue.

How much does it cost? We provide your EPC at a fixed price (dependent on the size and complexity of the building) with no extra costs on the day. With prices starting from £65.00 for a Domestic EPC, the price we quote is the price you will pay.

Choosing Your EPC Assessor

When selling your property, it is likely that your estate agent will recommend a domestic energy assessor to carry out the EPC Survey for your property. Whilst this may be helpful to some, you are actually free to choose whoever you wish to carry out your assessment and it doesn’t have to be the assessor or the price that your estate agent suggests. The choice is yours.
